Organic Wool and Wool-fill Items

Consider products from A Happy Planet a personal investment. Cared for properly, they will provide pure comfort and beauty that will last for years.

General Care for All:

Air it out!! Freshen wool-fill items seasonally by placing outside in sunlight and fresh air for a few hours. Sunlight is a natural sanitizer.

Keep dry and covered. If needed, stains can be cleaned using a 1:3 solution of distilled vinegar to water. Odors can be eliminated by sprinkling baking soda.

Take care to prevent moth damage when storage is necessary by using cedar chips and/or a cedar closet. Store products in a cloth bag or wrapped in paper to allow for proper ventilation.

Wool-fill Comforters and Pads:

Professional cleaning is recommended. Items can be heavy, large and should be entrusted to a professional launderer equipped to care for fine linens.

Hand washable with extreme care only; DO NOT agitate wet wool. Air dry out of direct sunlight. Best to avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight as well.

Follow these instructions should you choose to wash at home: (1) Wash by hand in a wash (or bath) tub. (2) Use warm water and a phosphate-free, natural detergent. (3) Squeeze out water by hand. (4) Repeat as above for the rinse. (5) Hang up or lay flat to dry, DO NOT use an automatic dryer as wool will shrink. A washing machine without an agitator can be used. Wash on the soak cycle only. DO NOT agitate wool products in a washing machine as items will become matted.

We recommend having your wool product recarded (reworked) every 7 to 10 years.
