So your mattress and your sheets are all wrong. Go get yourself a set of organic, or untreated cotton sheets (also called Green Cotton). Now your body will at least rest on something bit a cleaner. Eventually, you should consider pillows, comforters and a mattress systems that use no petro-chemicals. Replace foams and synthetics with wool, cotton or hemp. These natural fibers breathe better, and so do their owners.

Yikes, this is getting ugly. How long has this sock been here? Keeping the floor clean, along with other horizontal surfaces, is a must for this healthy bedroom thing to work out.

Carpets aren't great especially thick ones, because they harbor dust, and therefor dust mites. If you must endure one, vacuum regularly (preferably with a "HEPA" filtered vacuum) and steam clean the sucker at least twice a year. This includes under the bed.
